All Myrth ceramics are fully dishwasher safe—home and commercial, any rack, any standard warm cycle. We run every item in our collection through our home dishwasher daily without issue. Our glaze recipes are specifically engineered to withstand repeated washing without hazing, clouding, or dulling over time. If you prefer hand washing, a soft sponge and warm soapy water works perfectly.

Will everything fit in a home dishwasher? Yes! Our products are very common sizes which fit well in most standard dishwashers—no special loading tricks, no pieces left out because they’re too big or awkwardly shaped. If you’re wondering whether that large serving platter or the Feast Bowl will fit, it will.

Myrth ceramics are oven safe when brought up to temperature gradually. Place your piece in a cold oven and allow it to heat up as the oven preheats—this gradual change is safe for our porcelain. Avoid placing a cold piece directly into a fully preheated oven, as sudden thermal shock can stress any ceramic. We do not recommend use over an open flame or directly on a stovetop burner.

Those faint grey lines that sometimes appear on plates and bowls after regular use aren’t scratches—they’re metal. Because our high-fired porcelain is harder than most stainless steel flatware, soft metal deposits a thin trace onto the glaze surface on contact. Your pieces aren’t damaged.

To remove marks, buff with a powdered cleanser like Bon Ami on a damp sponge or Scotch-Brite p ad using light circular motions, then rinse clean. Bar Keepers Friend also works well.

The best way to minimize marking is to invest in quality flatware. We recommend 18/10 stainless steel—the higher nickel content makes the metal harder, which means significantly less transfer onto your ceramics. With 18/10 flatware, marks that do occur often wipe away with just soap and water.

Myrth ceramics are engineered to resist chipping under normal use. Every piece in our collection is designed with rounded edges — a deliberate choice, because sharp edges tend to chip while there's more strength in a curve. Our clay formulation, forming process, and high-firing temperature all contribute to a dense, hard ceramic body that holds up at the rims and edges where chipping most commonly occurs. Use them every day, stack them, run them through the dishwasher — that's exactly what they're designed for.

Plates and bowls stack freely without felt pads or special storage. The hardness of our glaze means pieces don’t scratch each other during normal stacking. For platters and larger serving pieces, avoid stacking too many high given their surface area and weight—but a reasonable stack is perfectly fine.
