Mix & Match Your Myrth: Creating Your Perfect Dinnerware Palette

One of the joys of the Myrth collection is the freedom to create a dinnerware set that's uniquely yours. Our new color palette was designed with an even balance of neutral, warm, and cool tones so it’s easy to mix and match our glazes harmoniously. You can create a set that’s truly tailored to your style and aesthetic.

We've meticulously designed our six new glaze colors to harmonize effortlessly. Seriously, there are no "wrong" combinations!

Our New Glaze Colors

Get to know our new glazes:

  • ROSEWOOD: Warm cocoa brown with red undertones and a dappled gloss over satin base finish. A rich red-brown, almost burgundy shade that nods to our past Chestnut glaze.

  • CANYON: Warm terracotta with soft umber speckle and a satin matte finish. Inspired by natural clay and southwestern adobe, its warmth will look stunning with almost any food.

  • DOVE: Soft warm grey with hints of lavender and a satin matte finish. A soft, warm neutral that we're sure will nest into your home perfectly.

  • NIGHTFALL: Rich navy blue with a dappled gloss over satin base finish. This deep blue grounds our line, improving upon past dark blues with more color saturation and a dynamic sheen for an ultra-rich hand feel.

  • VERDIGRIS: Greenish copper blue with a dappled gloss patina texture. This lovely, weathered copper blue is a real stunner and the perfect elegant pop to your collection. It will elevate even the most neutral colored foods.

  • MOONLIGHT: Simple, sophisticated off-white with a satin matte finish. A crisp ivory hue that delivers soft luminescence and the perfect pale neutral shade.

Strategies for Mixing and Matching

All of our 3, 4, and 5 Piece place setting can be purchased in single colors or you can choose to create your own custom color combo within a setting or throughout a full set. Here are a few ways to mix and match and infuse your set with as much or as little color as you like.

1. Keep it Calm: Monochromatic Settings For a sleek, serene aesthetic, choose one glaze color for your entire place setting. This creates a visually calm table and is perfect for open shelving where your dishes become part of your interior design. Think all Dove, all Nightfall, or all Rosewood for an understated yet impactful look.

2. Group & Go: Small Monochromatic Groupings Can't choose just one? For larger collections, consider creating small groups of monochromatic place settings. For example, if you have 12 settings, you could opt for 4 Rosewood, 4 Canyon, and 4 Verdigris. This allows you to set smaller tables with cohesive colors or mix them all for a vibrant, multi-color tablescape at big dinner parties. It's the best of both worlds!

3. Playful Variety: Different Colors for Each Item Dive into the full spectrum by selecting a different color for each piece in your setting. The possibilities are endless! To get started, consider these curated palettes based on your new color notes:

  • Earthy Warm: Canyon, Rosewood, Moonlight

  • Deep Cool: Nightfall, Verdigris, Dove

  • Balanced Pop: Rosewood, Verdigris, Canyon

4. Pop It! Add a Splash of Contrast Even within a largely monochromatic set, a single "pop" of color can make a big statement. Picture all your plates in Moonlight + Dove, with a vibrant Verdigris bowl. You can also introduce a brighter serveware piece, like a boldly colored Platter or Feast Bowl, to punctuate an otherwise subdued set.

5. Old and New: Mix current & retired Myrth colors. When we designed our new color palette we made sure our past glaze colors would mix well with our new glazes. For folks slowly building their set piece by piece this means our new colors will harmoniously mix into your old color set beautifully. Take a look at how our old glazes (on Morsel Plates) mix with our new glazes (on Appetizer Plates) below.

Below are three of our new colors and their older and similar color cousins layered for comparison.

Feeling Stuck? Look Around Your Kitchen! Sometimes the best inspiration is right in front of you. Pick an existing color in your kitchen that matches one of our glazes, and let that be your starting point.

We hope these ideas help you build your dream dinnerware set! If you'd like to explore the colors in person or get personalized recommendations, please visit us at the Myrth Studio or book an online shopping appointment. We'd love to help you find the perfect blend!
